The group's line-up was Nicky Byrne,Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, and Brian McFadden (left the band in 2004). The group is the only act in British and Irish history to have their first seven singles peak at number one. Westlife have sold over 44 million records worldwide which includes studio albums, singles, video release, and compilation albums.[1] Despite the group's worldwide success, they only have one hit single in the United States, "Swear It Again", which peaked in 2000 on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 20. The band were originally signed by Simon Cowell and are managed by Louis Walsh. The group have accumulated 14 number-one singles in the United Kingdom, the third-highest in UK history, tying with Cliff Richard. The group had also broken a few records, including "Music artist with most consecutive number 1's in the UK", which consists of their first seven singles and only behind The Beatles andElvis Presley. The Official Charts Company credited Westlife as the second biggest-selling artist and biggest-selling band of the decade.[2] The band have 14 UK number ones and 25 top ten singles, consisting of 20.2 million records and videos in the UK across their 14-year career - 6.8 million singles, 11.9 million albums and 1.5 million videos.[3]
On 1 June 2008, Westlife marked their tenth anniversary with a concert in Croke Park, Dublin which had more than 83,000 fans attending the special occasion. Music Week revealed on their website that Westlife are the official third top touring act within the years 2005–2008, while they were seventh top touring act of 2008.[4] Also in 2008, they were declared Ireland's ninth-richest celebrities under 30 years old and thirteenth in general with 36 million euros as a group. In 2009, they dropped as sixteenth richest Irish with estimated 8 million euros each. They were named as the fourth most hard-working music artist in UK by PRS in 2010.[5] In August 2011, it was reported in the Irish Examiner that the profits of the band's firm grew five-fold in 2010.[6] On 19 October 2011, Westlife announced they were to split after their Greatest Hits was released on the 21st of November 2011 it debuted in Ireland at number1 for 1 week and debuted and peaked at number 4 in the UK and a farewell tour in Spring 2012.[7]
Westlife is the only one boyband in the world that I like, because of many special things that I get. Special because of the genre of the music, I loveth eir genre!!!! Yeah pop romantic is touching add with their beautiful and soft voices Oh My God!!! I cant tell you. Even though in this century there are so much good amazing music but I don’t like them, just because I’m only search for classic music just like Westlife!!!!. I know Westlife is not popular anymore because of the new coming music’s genre but I am proud to be Westlifer because they have been produced 44 millions copy and 14 tops single in UK chart, and they are have been produced 11 album in this 14 years and actually I love all of their album ….
Every day, if I had a time or time for study, listening their music will make me feel better to do the worst thing LOL. They have up to 200 songs and I have all of them, Westlife have 4 amazing lads they are Shane, Nicky, Mark and Kian and they have the greatest voices, especially Shane and Mark, their voices can make me fly with the Soft voice from shane and R and B soul from Mark, Not only about their voices but also about their look I can stay in 2 hour just if I see my beloved uncle’s picture hahahaha. Nicky and Kian also have the great voices but not the most, but I love Kian,he has a beautiful eyes and his words are always make me crazy and make me wanna crave it.
But the bad thing that I never want to hear about their split up, whenever I read the news about it, I cried allover night, I cant sleep to imagine the sad things lke that, oh My God it feels like the world stops forever, and I don’t want the another . After I tried to find the reason why are they split up?, finally I know!!! This is the time for them to find a new future and the important thing is a best future for them. And I know Westlife is not special anymore because of so much boyband want to exist but they don’t have a quality huh…..
But my life will not stop after westlife stop, Im already found a boyband who have the similarity with westlife almost all of the characteristic. That was One Direction but the genre was still different so I got nothing except Westlife .
